IPEN to receive the Intergovernmental Forum on Chemical Safety's Special Recognition Award:

IPEN will be the first organization to receive an award from the Intergovernmental Forum on Chemical Safety (IFCS). This Award recognizes "IPEN's outstanding achievements, through its participating organizations and "in an exceptional way", in the course of promoting international action towards the successful completion of the negotiations for the Stockholm Convention on POPs." The IFCS is the United Nations agency that launched the POPs negotiations.

The IFCS Special Recognition Award will be formally presented at the coming 4th Plenary Session of the Intergovernmental Forum on Chemical Safety. This major event is scheduled to take place from November 1-7 in Bangkok, Thailand.The award ceremony to be held on the very first day, with Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn presiding.
