Budapest, Hungary 20-22nd of September 2006
The IPEN General Assembly will convene just prior to Forum V of the Intergovernmental Forum on Chemical Safety (IFCS), 23rd-29th of September in Budapest, Hungary. I would encourage IPEN Participating Organizations who are interested in attending Forum V, to register with IFCS before the June 30th deadline (see http://www.who.int/ifcs/forums/five/en/index.html ).
The IPEN Network -of over 400 NGOs in over 70 countries- is entering a new phase of development, and the 2006 IPEN General Assembly will be an important event for the IPEN Network. Topics to be covered during this 3-day IPEN General Assembly include:
- Review and report-back since the 2005 IPEN General Assembly
- IPEN PO information and experience exchange
- Strategic IPEN planning and projects
- SAICM awareness-raising and implementation-planning
Registration & Travel Support
The 2006 IPEN General Assembly Registration and Travel Grant Request Form is available to IPEN Participating Organization upon requests submitted to the IPEN Secretariat ipen-general-assembly@toxicfreefuture.net.
IPEN Travel Grant Requests must be submitted before the July 3rd deadline. We would also encourage IPEN POs interested in participating in Forum V submit their Forum V registration and written travel request to the IFCS Secretariat before the June 30th deadline.
We are planning for a number of IPEN POs (50-80 NGOs) to attend the 2006 IPEN General Assembly. Thus, we hope to secure broad global representation among the IPEN Network at the IPEN General Assembly.
