23. Nose Town, Japan, Osaka Prefecture - ASIA

Approximately 11,000 tons of dioxin contaminated soil had been left near the municipal waste incinerator in Nose Town, Osaka. Cooling water from the facility contaminated soil in Nose Town Area. Dioxin levels at contaminated waste storage facility in Toyonogun Bika Centre as well as in the surrounding area exceed central governmental limits. Remedial work on the contaminated soils is underway.
