POPs elimination was CEJ's main slogan for 2007 World
Environment Day.
CEJ together with a group of environmental organizations joined the World Environmental Day 2007 celebration held in Kegalle, Sri
Lanka. An exhibition supported by the UNDP was held from 5 - 6 June. The theme of the CEJ stall was educating people on
“Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)”. Popular education material including posters relating to the use of Pesticides,
Industrial Chemicals, and unintended byproducts were distributed among the public.
