IPEN - International POPs Elimination Network:

The International POPs Elimination Network (IPEN) is a global network of NGOs in fields such as public health, environmental protection and others.

Our network began during the negotiation of the Stockholm Convention on POPs, and we now work with participating NGOs and civil society organizations in 65 countries.

Our initial focus was on efforts to eliminate persistent organic pollutants (POPs) as outlined in the IPEN Stockholm Declaration.

But we have expanded our scope to more generally advocate and work in support of policies and practices that will globally advance chemical safety objectives. Our aim is to advance the protection of the public, workers, farmers, peasants, and others from harms caused by toxic chemicals; and also to protect the natural environment.

While our network is global in its scope, our primary focus is on the needs and interests of societies with developing economies and with economies in transition.
