Women in Europe for a Common Future (WECF) hosted a side event on 17 December on Women and Chemicals. Women are exposed to hazardous chemicals differently than men, have a higher susceptibility to hazardous chemicals, are the first environment for their children, and have less decision-making power in politics and economy. The side event presented a draft of the new WECF report “Women and Chemicals” and highlighted some case studies. Amongst others, speakers included IPEN Steering Committee Member Alexandra Caterbow (WECF), Meriel Watts (PAN), Chair of IPEN's POPs Pesticides Working Group, and PEN Steering Committee Member and Lead on ASGM Yuyun Ismawati. See the WECF report on the side event here.
