NGO Capacity Building in CEE Region

Expert teams and NGO capacity building in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region.

Arnika's expert teams met the NGOs and local citizens working on public awareness activities or related issues in Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Belarus to present POPs and the Stockholm Convention. Topics included the role of NGOs in national implementation plan preparation, public awareness-raising, and information exchange information related to the POPs issue and the Stockholm Convention. The visits led to the establishment of Bumerang, a new NGO in Turkey working on chemical safety issues.
